Exceptionally fine antique French heavy Pewter Champagne Chiller - dating from the 18th century - reign of Louis XV.
Pewter Champagne Chiller with handles and decorative grape engraving on both sides. They are oval - elliptical in shape - the larger one comfortably takes a Champagne bottle or 2 bottles of wine. While the smaller one is best for splits or fresh ice.
This is a set from the Master Artisan Etienne Sergent - workmanship is engraved grape design and heavy decorative handles. This item is fully stamped on the base - with the artisans mark/signature the Pewter/Etain stamp and the Control/Charge mark. Date confirmed as 1769.
